BASE Camp

Colorado School of Mines

Welcome to BASE Camp!

BASE Camp stands for Belonging & Allyship in the Student Experience.

For us, the foundational objectives of diversity, inclusion and equity all come together to create Belonging. For people to truly feel like they belong, they need allies; peers, leaders, faculty, and staff that all contribute to student success at Mines. Through BASE Camp, student leaders, known as BASE Leaders, will have extra training on diversity, equity, inclusion, and access. Through partnership and collaboration, we will work to develop consistent language, leadership skills, and knowledge that will elevate the collegiate experience for all Mines’ students. BASE Camp is intended to be a place to start and a place to return. It is a place for everyone to learn, grow, and lead.

Please visit us again, we will have new updates on training opportunities and events.

BASE Camp Leaders

Our BASE Camp Leaders are our most valuable team members. Made up of student leaders on campus, they are the ones that provide direct support to all students on campus by learning and applying the core values of  belonging and allyship in all areas of the college experience. BASE Camp is a tiered system that promotes and rewards as students move through the ranks. The different levels include curriculum, reflection, projects and community impact. Our goal is to train the next round of BASE Camp Guides that can lead and support the entire Mines student community.
